A great place to begin is the Territorial Assembly, located behind the main post office in Papeete. It is made up of 57 members elected by universal suffrage, each serving a five-year term. Together, they debate and vote on laws and policies that shape French Polynesia. Beyond its political role, the building also reflects the country’s rich history and pays tribute to the Polynesian royal dynasties.<\/p>

The CESEC<\/h3>

Next, head to the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC), located opposite the High Commissioner’s Office. It brings together 48 members representing four sectors: employees, business leaders, civil society organizations, and the development sector. Before many government projects become official, they are reviewed by the CESEC, which provides an advisory opinion.<\/p>

The Presidency<\/h3>

Finish your visit at the Presidency of French Polynesia, located at the end of Avenue Saint-Am\u00e9lie. This is where the President of French Polynesia, Moetai Brotherson, and the government ministers carry out their work. The President appoints ministers, assigns their responsibilities, leads the government, promulgates laws, and can also enter into agreements with municipalities.<\/p>
