Embark on an adventure with Sean, Jean-Rolland, and Raphaël for a unique experience.
Sail to the Rhythm of the Wind on Moorea’s Turquoise Waters
That’s what VAAPITI invites you to experience — an extraordinary eco-tour aboard a traditional Polynesian double-hulled sailing canoe. This unique adventure, imagined and brought to life by three brothers passionate about the ocean and Polynesian culture, invites you to (re)discover the lagoon of Moorea.
A Full Immersion in Nature aboard the Vaapiti
The Vaapiti, the first certified double-hulled canoe in French Polynesia, sails along Moorea’s west coast, an area brushed by the trade winds all year round. On board, crew members Sean and Raphaël will guide you on a journey around the island:
• Snorkeling between two motu (islets), where you’ll explore a pristine coral garden teeming with colorful fish in a protected area that is also home to sea turtles.
• Encounter stingrays and blacktip reef sharks, and stop on a sandbank where a local sculptor shares his art of stone engraving—right in the water.

Sharing, Tradition, and Togetherness
Far from mass tourism, a trip with VAAPITI is above all a human experience. Tropical fruit platters, fresh cocktails, and a magical sunset moment add the perfect finishing touch to this unforgettable escape.
VAAPITI is more than a tourist project — it’s a family adventure launched in 2015, born from a desire to share the culture of the va’a (canoe, in Tahitian) and raise awareness about lagoon preservation. The name “Vaapiti” means “double canoe,” a symbol of balance and voyage.
An Educational Mission
With a capacity of 8 passengers plus 2 crew members, the Vaapiti welcomes not only visitors, but also local schools and students for educational outings. These trips introduce young people to the fundamentals of traditional sailing and the marine environment.
