The tatau, far more than just a tattoo, is a profound expression of our history, myths, and identity. With immense mana (spiritual power), the Miss and Mister Tatau contest returns for its second edition on Friday, October 10, 2025, on the stunning motu of the Intercontinental Tahiti Resort in Faa’a.
This day is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the richness of Polynesian culture.
On the program: a day full of discoveries and festivities:
From 9:00 AM: The artisan village opens its doors! Come discover local creators and take home a unique souvenir. Perfect for finding a special gift or simply admiring the talent of our artisans.
3:00 PM: Happy Hour at the hotel bar. The perfect moment to meet up with friends and enjoy a refreshing cocktail with a view of the lagoon.
4:30 – 6:00 PM: Join cultural workshops! Tapa, traditional drawing, or even a demonstration of ancestral tatau techniques… A unique opportunity to see our traditions in action and even try them yourself.
6:30 PM: The pageant begins! The candidates will parade with elegance and pride, their tatau telling a story. Expect breathtaking artistic performances that highlight the mana of Polynesian culture. The show will conclude at 10:00 PM with the announcement of the winners!
10:00 PM – 2:00 AM: The celebration continues! The after-party, hosted by the band Pepena, will take place in the two event rooms of the Intercontinental, so you can dance the night away.

Miss and Mister Tatau is much more than a simple beauty pageant. It is a celebration of courage, identity, and the mana that lives within Polynesians. It is a moment where the art of tatau shines brightly and is honored as it should be.
